Town Hall

What hours are Town Hall open?

Town Hall is open from 9:00am - 3:00pm, Monday-Friday. Closed on holidays. Other exceptions may apply.

Thorntown Ordinances

Can I burn trash or leaves in town?

No, our ordinances do not allow burning trash or leaves. The town does provide a burn pile located at the sewage treatment plant for limbs, brush, and other clean wood. The town also provides leaf pickup in the fall. Please contact town hall if you have any questions.

Building Permits & Inspections

What is the process for getting a building permit?

We have provided you with a Building Permit Application form that you can fill out on-line, sign electronically, download the completed form and e-mail the form to

[email protected]. You may also print out the form and bring it to the Town Hall at 101 West Main Street in Thorntown.

Utilities

My bill is past due can I get an extension?

Please contact our office and a one-time extension will be extended to you for extenuating circumstances.

What do I do if I am experiencing low pressure?

Call our office and report low pressure for your area.

Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?

We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.

Why is my water discolored?

A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look.

Where do I go to vote?

 The Thorntown voting location is held at the Thorntown Library. All elections are conducted by the Boone County Clerk and Election Board. Please visit the Elections Page for all locations and upcoming election information.
